About Us
ALAN SIMPSON
Alan has owned and run Apex Renewables since 2013. Since then Apex has installed several hundred renewables systems throughout Scotland, ranging from solar PV to heat pumps and biomass. After a move to France in 2019 Alan and his family returned to a croft near Inverness in 2021. Apex is back! Alan is qualified in the design, installation, commissioning and servicing of Air sourced heat pumps.
NEIL HARVEY
Neil spent many years working in outdoor education before moving into camper van rental and conversion. It was building campers that got Neil fired up about renewables. He moved from designing and building renewables systems for vans to installing scaled up systems in off grid huts and cabins. Based in Mull, Neil now works with Apex where he looks after design and install solutions all over Scotland’s west coast.
Alan and Neil are passionate about renewable heat technologies and have heat pumps, solar and batteries running in their own homes. They don’t just install systems – they live with them day in and day out, giving them a vast wealth of experience…
